I don't wanna, I don't think so.

There are no words to describe what the hell Sonic Youth's sound is really like. There are scratches and squeals and melodies and ethereal moments and some humming and buzzing and clicking and growling and it's all blended together in a train wreck of beautiful noise. It makes no sense and they make no sense. I've been following their music for a while now, although I must say i've been a pretty lousy music lover for the last 5 or 6 years, not really putting my ear to the wall to find out what's been going on with all my favorite and not so beloved bands. Either way, I'm trying not and I just saw the video for "Sacred Trickster", Sonic Youth's first single off their new LP The Eternal. And i'll be honest, the last album of Sonic Youth's that I bought was NYC Ghosts and Flowers about 9 years ago (I was still in high school for christ's sake.) And while I dug it at the time, it didn't speak to me the way Daydream Nation or Dirty or Sister did. However, I think I might try to go back in time and catch up on all the Sonic Youth i've missed this last near-decade to see what tracks can haunt me the way Teenage Riot always will.

For now, enjoy the new single and let me know what you think!
